Hutchison Global Communications Limited (“HGC”) is a full-fledged international telecom operator and is a subsidiary of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited (SEHK: 215), a group member of the Hutchison Whampoa Limited. Since its establishment in 1995, HGC has been fully committed to building its own state-of-the-art network infrastructure. Today, HGC owns and operates one of the largest fibre-to-the-building (FTTB) networks in Hong Kong.
Boasting its fibre network backbone in Hong Kong, HGC also provides network routings that span the globe via submarine and terrestrial cable facilities offering a high degree of resilience. HGC's advanced voice, data and IP network today links its home market with the rest of the world and carries traffic between internationally-dispersed geographies.
Leveraging its ubiquitous network and extensive portfolio of services, HGC has established a leading position in the local and international fixed network industry, delivering sophisticated fixed-line telecom solutions to corporate and carrier customers in Hong Kong and overseas.
HGC attains a global reach through the deployment of multiple submarine and terrestrial cable systems, as well as the establishment of its own point of presence (PoPs) nodes overseas.
Through co-operation with carriers around the world, HGC has extended its footprint to the Europe, the Middle East, Africa, United States and the United Kingdom. Furthermore, its network reach also stretches from its home base in Hong Kong to Mainland China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
In the voice space, HGC has established interconnections with more than 280 carriers and extended mobile coverage via direct connections with over 110 operators throughout more than 60 countries.
Recognising that mainland China will become a powerhouse in the global economy, HGC was the first fixed network operator in Hong Kong to have established direct telecom links to Mainland China. Since 2000, HGC has built fibre-optic cable systems at Lok Ma Chau, Man Kam To and Lo Wu to provide cross-border telecom services. Determined to stay at the frontier of the fixed-line industry, HGC also embarked a visionary plan to further connect Hong Kong and Mainland China. In August 2008, HGC launched the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Corridor Fibre-Optic Cable System. The system adds the fourth cross-border routing between Mainland China and Hong Kong and also makes HGC the first player in Hong Kong to integrate four cross-border routes with the networks of all three Mainland China's tier-1 telecom operators.
A top global network service provider, HGC strives to ensure its customers total network quality and assurance through provision of standard and customised service pledge. Its 24-hour International Network Operations Centre also provides its customers with around-the-clock network monitoring and immediate service support.
At HGC, our goal is to maximise global business opportunities of every customer with the delivery of advanced fixed-line network technologies and unrivalled total telecom solutions.
